Nomination tips

Here are the top five characteristics of a great nomination:

Include a great photo. It’s true what they say: a picture is worth a thousand words.

Choose and link to a great video clip. You can include a link to a full show, or you can create a montage video – just be sure to keep the judging criteria in mind, and make sure our judges have enough material to review. Judging criteria are available for review in our contest Rules. If you’re going to send a link, please make sure it isn’t set to expire.

Make sure your nomination is as complete as possible and include as much detail as you can. You don’t have to write War and Peace, but you should probably go for more than a single sentence. After all, Canada needs to know why your nominee deserves to win.

Tell a story! Take the time to tell us what your nominee did, and how they did it.

Don’t be shy – tell us why your nominee matters to you. That’s the stuff that really counts.
